Community Football Officer - Kicks

 

Job Purpose

Established in 1986, City in the Community Foundation is the registered charity of Manchester City FC and uses the brand of the parent Club to deliver award-winning programmes centred around Health, Education and Inclusion. The projects engage and impact over 30,000 lives in Manchester annually.

 

We are currently recruiting for a first-line management vacancy in our Community Football provision. The successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of CITC’s Premier League Kicks project and manage a Lead Coach and a team of Community Coaches to deliver an inclusive programme across designated sites in Greater Manchester. The person will also coordinate and further develop CITC’s Volunteering programme.

This an exciting opportunity to have an immediate impact and join this progressive and ambitious team.

Accountabilities include:

  • Line management of a team of Community Coaches to deliver a weekly programme of inclusive PL Kicks projects, engaging participants across a wide range of ages, social backgrounds and abilities.
  • Development and coordination of CITC’s volunteer programme to create a development pathway for participants and a support CITC’s wider strategy and culture of social action within the programmes.
  • Accountability for progressing and reporting on set KPIs and outcomes associated with each project to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the Premier League Charitable Fund and any additional funders.
  • Utilising own profile and community network to create, maintain and develop relationships with internal stakeholders in CITC and the wider City Football Group (CFG), local authorities and governing bodies to develop CITC’s reputation and reach, promoting all CITC programmes across Manchester.
  • Regularly review individual performance within the team to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery on the programmes.
  • Monitoring of budget spend to ensure programmes are delivered within the projected budget, escalating observations or any concerns where necessary.

Scope of Job

The Community Football Officer role is an integral part of CITC’s team, working within the Operations Department. The role has line management responsibility for a Lead Coach, and working together, they have day-to-day line management responsibility for the rest of the team.

So we are looking for a respected manager who as a minimum has; in-depth and demonstrable understanding of community based programmes, credible experience of developing relationships with community organisations, schools/further education institutions and local government departments. Ideally, they will all also have experience of liaising with external funding partners.

It's crucial that applicants are positive and flexible and resilient to a fast-paced changing environment. This will often involve working on multiple projects at any one time. A friendly, open manner is also essential due to the wide range of community stakeholders that the position engages with.

We’d be especially keen to hear from you if you have knowledge and experience of Youth Work theories and practice in the charitable or voluntary sector and / or any specific knowledge of female engagement and / or disability programmes. Key Responsibilities:

  • To collect the allergen matrix from Head Chef for every function or match day service taking the time to review and update it were necessary so that all allergens are captured. It must be accessible to all employees and guests and/or customers
  • To ensure that all employees are trained which enables them to carry out their duties according to departmental standards.
  • To ensure that all employees and casual employees adhere to the departmental standard of dress and personal hygiene always.This is to include PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment).

Insights Manager

Job Purpose

City in the Community Foundation currently have an exciting opening for an Insights Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will lead on the collection, analysis and reporting of monitoring and outcomes data across CITC. Leading a small team, they will support project managers to set appropriate delivery targets, track progress against KPIs, develop and implement outcomes measurement tools, and carry out project reviews based on the results of this data collection and analysis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team in a key management role driving CITC’s insight profile and supporting the charity’s wider strategic aims.

Accountabilities include:

  • The management and ongoing development of CITC’s outcomes framework, alongside the roll-out of new PLCF-required outcomes measures in 2019-20
  • Development of ambitious but realistic KPIs and outcomes indicators tailored to individual project aims and objectives, and to track progress against these
  • Development of quantitative and qualitative tools to support the measurement of project outcomes and impact, and to gain participant feedback on their engagement with CITC

Scope of Job

The Insights Manager role is an integral part of CITC’s team, alongside the Operations Department and the Fundraising and Partnerships team. The role has line management responsibility for an Insights Officer who, in turn, has day-to-day line management responsibility for the rest of the team.

So we are looking for an Insights expert, who as a minimum will have; a relevant qualification or equivalent experience in an M&E/insights role, substantial experience of outputs, outcomes and impact measurement, both qualitative and quantitative techniques, experience of developing project KPIs and outcomes indicators and using online monitoring systems for data recording and reporting. They should also be competent in designing questionnaires and other feedback/outcomes measurement tools and conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups. Finally, a good understanding of GDPR legislation and how this affects data collection, storage and use is now essential.

It's crucial that applicants are positive, flexible and pragmatic and able to work in a high-paced environment. A friendly, open manner is also essential due to the wide range of stakeholders that the team engage with.

Host Families Needed Near Our City Football Academy

As Manchester City Football Club grows, it continues to cultivate local, national and international talent. In order that we can create the best conditions for our young players to develop they need to be in quick and/or easy reach of our training facilities (and school).

Can you help with accommodation for our young players?

We have more young players joining our development programmes all the time. Generally these players are aged between 12 and 18, both boys and girls, and some require high quality accommodation on either a temporary, part-time or full-time basis. The requirement ranges from hosting trialists for several days or weeks at a time, to longer term placements for up to 34 weeks per year for several nights each week. It may also mean permanent accommodation for players from further afield choosing to live full-time in Manchester.

We require a small number of high quality homes for either two or three players in each unit (you must have at least two rooms available). Players will require a spacious single or double bedroom, quality bed and mattress, wireless internet access, desk and storage, some personal space, outdoor space, and their meals (breakfast and evening) and personal laundry to be provided. Access to pay-TV (Sky Sports, Virgin, BT Sport) or similar is preferred.

Payment and Expenses

The Club operates in a fast moving environment so we require host families who are flexible and committed and understand that there may be times when a bed-space is not required. As such football club makes a generous all-inclusive payment to host families which covers all the costs of the arrangement and recognises the commitment required from the family.

Distance and Transport

Whilst some of the players’ transportation requirements are arranged by the club (we also encourage using public transport for many journeys), they can be quite complex. Thus we need your accommodation to be a short distance from our new City Football Academy (M11 4TQ) and near a metro station, on a suitable bus route, or on our transport route and we may ask the host family to undertake some of the transportation (for which mileage expenses are paid).

More Information

If you have experience of bringing up children or looking after someone else’s child then you might be able to help us. All you would need to do is provide a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for our players to rest and recuperate after a day’s training or school. Our young players would also expect some of the support normally given by their own parents when living at home.

All host family members over 16 will be subject to a criminal records check and the household will undergo a rigorous suitability assessment of both the accommodation and people living there.
